Garmin’s phase 2 expansion will make room for about 1,400 more employees

Garmin Ltd. officially will begin construction on the second phase of its $200 million expansion project in January.
The Olathe-based company (Nasdaq: GRMN) completed the first phase with the opening of a 775,000-square-foot warehouse and manufacturing facility in October 2018, more than doubling its North American manufacturing and distribution capacity.
The second half of the project will transform its previous warehouse and manufacturing space into a 544,000-square-foot aviation business center complete with 52,000 square feet for a fitness center and dining space.
