City of Anna Library & Plaza

Project Case Study
Anna is one of the fastest-growing cities in North Texas. To support the city’s rapid growth, the community overwhelmingly approved Proposition B in 2021 allocating funds to the development of a state-of-the-art public library and community plaza–the city’s first public library.

The Anna City Council formed the Anna Community Library Task Force to represent the needs of the community and assist in defining the goals of the project. After tours of regional libraries, multiple public input meetings and public surveys, the design firm, BRW Architects, was selected and began the drawings.

McCownGordon won the bid job in November of 2023 and began construction in early 2024. The facility is located in the heart of the city and will serve as hub for education, gathering and community. The two-story library is approximately 32,500 square feet with administration and multipurpose spaces. The plaza sits just west of the library and offers the community a beautiful green space with colorful plant beds, a butterfly garden, a veteran’s tribute and a children’s playground.
